Historical re-enactments, pioneer demonstrations, crafts, music, food,
and family fun along the beautiful Maumee River

On Sunday, October 9, 2011, the Historical Society of Grand Rapids will be sponsoring its annual Applebutter Fest from l0AM to 5PM. You, your friends, and your family can spend the day with us while we celebrate the harvest season and all of its history, glory and tradition.

34 years and hundreds of volunteers can only equal lots and lots of applebutter and plenty of down-home, old fashioned memories for tens of thousands of visitors to the scenic Victorian Canal Town, Grand Rapids, Ohio. This year the applebutter will be a-stirring and the memories will be a-making. Come join in the fun!

While at the festival there is easily a day's worth of activity to be seen, heard and enjoyed. Apple butter is the main feature with three 50 gallon copper kettles being cooked in the village park by the restored Town Hall.  More than 2,800 pints of apple butter will be for sale at the park. Be sure to get yours early—they go fast! You can even join in on the fun of giving a kettle a stir and experiencing the camaraderie as neighbors did years ago. Just speak up and join in. All are welcome.
